Amid the crisis in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, local farmers of Jharkhand suffered major financial losses. The production costs of farm produce was seen to be in excess multiples as compared to the market price provided to them. This outraged the farmers to the extent that they destroyed their crops.
This was one of the incidents that indicates the vulnerability and instability of economic conditions as a result of the pandemic. With food shortages looming across the country, such actions further hampered overall food production. Therefore, to support farmers, our team is constantly trying to help farmers cover their losses in any way possible.
We provided farmers direct access to the market so that they could sell their produce at market price. This plan was quite successful since it benefitted both farmers and customers:
